First, Justin assembled various pieces of different colored sidewalk chalk, plastic baggies, and a hammer (I had Justin at the word "hammer")

Then Justin pounded away, smashing each color in its own separate baggie (this was by far his favorite part!)

He got so into it, he wanted me to take some video of him:
Next, each crushed chalk got its own bowl, into which Justin then poured water into

Then it was time to stir and paint! The sun was hot, so it was fun to see the wet paint go on the cement and quickly dry and change colors.


Here you can really see the difference between the wet paint and the dried paint.

Can anyone tell what this spells?! :)

Another fun activity!
I think it's Chinese. Justin's learned a new language. Love the whole chalk paint process.
