Field Trippin' it to the Big Trees

My favorite close-by day trip is Big Trees State Park. I never get tired of going there. It is a large grove of giant sequoia redwoods. California is only one of two places left in the world that they are alive and growing. They are really magnificent trees.

Last week, we took a field trip there with another family. The kids all had such a blast. Everybody we passed on the trail smiled at their enthusiasm and love for nature. Both Justin and his friend, Codie, have a passion for nature. They will each sit and watch nature documentaries for hours on end (if allowed!). Justin has been bringing a northern California nature field guide to bed for reading until he falls asleep. Needless to say, this field trip was a hit!
