Each year since preschool we have let Justin try out the AWANA program at our church. Each year until now, he has attended once or twice and has had no desire to return. For multiple reasons, we didn't push his attendance.
This year, however, THIS year, he loved it from week one. He made up for lost time by finishing ALL THREE of his Sparks books in one year!! (Most kids are in Sparks for three years: one book for each year). He is the first child in the history of our church's AWANA program to do this! (That's our boy; he does things no one else has before!)
He also received awards for earning certain numbers of points and other various things. By the end, his arms were so full of awards he could hardly hold them all! He was a self-motivated boy this year and he worked very hard. We are very proud of his diligence and perseverance in hiding God's word in his heart. Way to go, Justin!!
