Mother's Day Adventure

We went on a hiking adventure for Mother's Day. The map Dave had printed wasn't the greatest and we missed the first turn off to the trail. But we went by instinct and sense of adventure and ended up on a beautiful route. It wasn't without its trials, however. What started out as a wide, dirt road ended up descending all the way to the creek bottom (and thus back up before we could reach our car again), crossing the creek not once, not twice, but THREE times! and ended up (after passing on the trail that led back to our car which was literally labeled a "black diamond: most difficult route") on a single track dirt trail straight up the hill the remaining altitude to our car. But we made it and all had a great time. And we would even do it again!

We finally made it to the marked trail!
The trail was gorgeous and secluded

The first of 3 creek crossings

Dave got the short end of the stick having to traverse himself and the stroller safely across...but he did it!

Partway through crossing #2...planning his next steps

Crossing #2 for Justin!

The last one was the trickiest. Justin and Dave take an intermission to examine a really cool plant

Justin's and my final crossing path...but we made it with only one wet shoe among us! (Dave's!)
