The Big Move

After several years of hoping, months of praying, and weeks of planning, we moved our family from California to Wisconsin to our family cabin (until Dave finds a job and we move again!).

Everything went relatively well for such a major ordeal. No one got sick or injured and there were no major catastrophes. Phew! There was a bit of last minute scramble when we didn't think all of our stuff would fit on the big 26 foot long Penske rental truck, but almost all of it ended up fitting.

The drive out was slow and uneventful (and that's a good thing!). The kids did pretty well in the car, driving the truck was a beast and a half but Dave handled it like a professional.

We were blessed with lots of friends to help load and clean

Early in the day, plenty of space left!

Out of room! The elliptical and the BBQ Smoker didn't make it :(

That's one long load!

Even the minivan is packed solid

Mommy and Abby ready for take off!

The final glimpse of our California house. Good-bye!

Off we go on our big adventure!

We stopped for at least one park in every state and we stayed in a different state each night: Nevada, Utah, Wyoming, Nebraska, Iowa, and finally Minnesota and Wisconsin!

How many swings did Abby swing in on the way across the country?

Park #2 in Elko, NV

Abby's first turn to ride in the big truck!

A park in West Wendover, NV

In Salt Lake City Abby finally found a replacement Minnie Mouse!

Picnic at a lovely park in Green River, WY

A different swimming pool every night. What a life!

Snow in Wyoming! Brrrrr

A hot chocolate stop to warm up

By the time we hit Cheyenne it was warm and 75 degrees!

An original Pony Express station in Nebraska

And yet another swing...

We decided Cabella's would make a good stop to get out and stretch.

Abby and Justin both get to ride in the big truck!

Abby and Mommy arrive in Minnesota!

Dave and Justin finally arrive at my parents' house.

We made it to Minnesota! Wahhoo!
