Beating the January Doldrums

Christmas and birthday celebrations are over and done with. The past 2 weeks were spent with one, two or, at times, all 3 of us battling colds and coughs. We're left with gray, foggy days and damp, cold weather (I admit "cold" being relative compared to Minnesota or New Hampshire weather).

But today we went for a hike. Not a real hike, but it's a hike for Justin and Koty. Five minutes from where we live is a little nature trail that goes right down by the river and we go there often. Justin loves throwing rocks in the river and Koty loves doing all the things dogs do out in nature. It's been awhile since I've posted, I grabbed the camera on the way out the door.

Koty waiting for Justin and Dave on the trail

Justin with some of his "treasures" from the hike

Examining a fallen seed found on the trail

A beautiful manzanita tree with red bark

I loved the raindrops caught at the end of the pine needles

A really cool striped rock we found on the trail

Is there anything better than watching
a boy and his dog run down the trail?

  1. I'm so sorry for passing that awful bug on to the rest of the family. You got some beautiful pictures.
