2014 Science Fair: Worms

We almost didn't do the science fair this year. At the 11th hour, Justin's friend, Codie, convinced us to do a shared project with her. They learned about worms. It turned out to be an absolutely perfect project for them. They LOVED it! Digging up squishing, squirming, dirty, muddy worms. And then painting about them and writing jokes about them. Perfect!

Justin's favorite worm joke: Why did the cowboy try to ride the worm?

Answer: Because it had a saddle! (a saddle is the actual, technical name of part of the worm believe it or not!)

At one point, Justin had a little worm in his hand. I said it must be a baby worm. Justin assured me that it was not. "It's probably one of the ones that got torn apart." At my cry of dismay, Justin hastened to add, "It's ok, Mom. Worms have five hearts; it'll be fine!"

He definitely learned more about worms than I know!
