Last week our family was finally able to get away for a little vacation. We rented a cabin up in South Lake Tahoe and had a blast. The weather was gorgeous and we packed the week full of activities: hiking, biking, walking, fishing, mini-golfing, playing on the beach, sight-seeing, shopping, game playing, and reading. We can't wait to go back!

| Justin loved the loft |
| It was an original all-log cabin...lots of character and very cute! |
| Upper Truckee River went right near the cabin |
| Mom and Pop came up for the day! We had a blast biking and enjoying the lake together. |
| Put Justin at a lake anywhere in the world and this is what he will do |

| Gorgeous Emerald Bay |
| There is a Scandinavian built home on the shore of Emerald Bay. It was closed for the season (part of the Forest Service) but the outside was intriguing and caught our fascination. |
| The outside of Vikingsholm, facing the lake |
| The intricate details carved into the wood don't show, but you can see the grass roof and one of the "towers". |
| What a great looking family down by the bay! |
| Members of Dave's family may recognize this place. It was beautiful and we all wish we had had more time at this spot. |
| I had no idea there were other lakes other than "The Lake" but apparently there are! We fished at Fallen Leaf Lake and fell in love with the peace and beauty of it. |

| Dave and Justin went crayfish hunting |
| There just happened to be a mini-golf place right next to our cabin (located in the town of South Lake Tahoe). |
| Oh no! The fish swallowed Justin! |
| More fishing. This was a stocked, for-kids only pond...still no luck. |
| Hiking at the end of Fallen Leaf Lake |
| Making the Eagle Falls hike up above Emerald Bay |
| Lo and behold: another lake! Dave and I realized we hiked to this lake before we were married but had forgotten where it was. It was fun to remember back to when we were there before. |
| Dave with his two hiking buddies |
| One last hike on the way home. |
| Part of the Pacific Crest Trail. We didn't hike much of it, but it was beautiful! |
| One final shot of Justin enjoying the lake. It was really low because of the drought but still gorgeous. |
Great pictures of a wonderful vacation.
