Justin's School UnBirthday

At Justin's preschool, when a child's birthday falls outside of the school calendar, they get to choose another school day to celebrate. We'll be in Fiji over Justin's birthday (yippee!) and his birthday is the week after school ends anyway. So yesterday was Justin's school "unbirthday" as Teacher Nancy calls it. Dave came too, and it was a fun morning of celebration with Justin. Here are the highlights:

The unbirthday cupcakes: chocolate with marshmallow frosting and homemade pink sprinkles

The unbirthday boy wearing his crown for the first time that Teacher Nancy made for him

Daddy building Justin and his friend a really cool tower

Everyone sings Happy Birthday to the unbirthday boy

Justin gets to pick out a special prize from the birthday box

At snack time, it's Justin's job to pick up all the name tags from each plate

Sprinkling our "manner dust" on ourselves

Hiding hands in our lap (after we "open and shut them" song)
Justin was a bit surprised to find out after school yesterday that he was still 4 years old.

  1. That is awesome that they have "unbirthdays" - what a fun way to include everyone. I can't believe he's almost 5, and Fiji, what a fun way to celebrate! And those cupcakes look delicious too.
