After leaving the Mammoth Excavation Site, we drove through Wind Cave National Park. Although we didn't go on a cave tour (not enough time!), we did drive through the back road of the park in the hopes of seeing some wildlife. We were not disappointed.

| First though, the soil was such a deep red color...beautiful against the bright green grass |
| Pronghorn |
| Buffalo with a couple hitchhikers on his back |
| Very up close pronghorn, enjoying his dinner |
| "If I'm very still, I'm sure they won't see me!" |
| Deer |
The next morning, we left the Black Hills and headed toward the Badlands. Wall, SD lay directly in our route, so of course we had to stop. It was as kitschy as ever! Justin found a bow and arrow set at Wall Drug Store that he was thrilled to get.

Then we entered the Badlands....
After doing the bare minimum to achieve his Junior Ranger badge, Justin was sworn in as a Junior Ranger of the Badlands National Park in record time!
Next stop, Prairie Homestead...
