Here's what we've been up to in the first month of this year:

Lots of long-awaited rain brought an unfortunate side effect to our yard:

A new season of basketball for Justin. He is enjoying learning even more about the sport this year and continues to be an encouraging team mate and energetic player (with a basket here and there thrown in!).
Today also brought the final lemon harvest of the season. Dave, Justin, and I worked for 30 minutes and zested, sliced, and juiced. We ended up with two cookie sheets of lemon slices to freeze, 4 pints of lemon juice, and a sheet of lemon zest. Lemon meringue pie here we come! And lemon curd, lemonade, lemon bread, lemon bars...:)
