Family Adventure Day

We bit the bullet and hired a professional to clean and reseal our grout. We have tried to clean it ourselves and maintain it, but with two children and a giant dog it was a losing battle.

But we needed to be out of the house for six hours while the floors were cleaned. So we headed to Sacramento for some creative fun. Dave found an interesting sounding place while looking for ideas of what our family could do. It's a 3 level old house downtown Sacramento and it's filled with open-ended art projects and creative activities for children. Its main target is 1-6 year olds, but Justin had fun too.

The place was amazing: it had finger painting, easel painting, white board painting, watercolor/salt painting, cloud dough, a bird seed pouring station, bins upon bins of collage and craft supplies (pipe cleaners, pom poms, beads, popsicle sticks, glue, etc.), an indoor jungle gym, a lego/block/magnet tile/giant marble run creating room, a dress-up and pretend room with musical instruments, a stage and costumes, a puppet theater, a tent, a wooden ship and a rocket ship. I'm sure I've missed about half of what was available. We didn't even make it to the outdoor water play station!

After a fun-filled morning, we headed back home to clean grout! Yay! Now, to figure out how to KEEP it clean!

We got in on a special alcohol ink based coaster project. When Abby got the permanent ink on her hands she held them up and said, "Uh oh!"

Dip, dip, brush, brush. Abby loved painting!

The best part was: no clean up for me!!
