Beach Day

We spent today at the beach. We went to a couple of beaches north of San Francisco. Even though the weather forecast was sunny and 80 degrees, it was in fact drizzly and 60. But we were well prepared and the weather didn't stop us from enjoying the day. Justin literally ran around in circles in the sand and spent lots of time digging too.

We thought about bringing it home from the garden (for fertilizer)
but decided it would be too messy.

We found a large hole someone had dug and Justin had a great

time sliding down into it and playing in it.

After a break at a coffee shop we headed over to Muir Beach. It was much windier here, and a much smaller beach. There was a hiking trail that led up from the beach and we decided to take it. It went up...and up...and up...and up! But Justin kept climbing and so did we. The view from the top was beautiful and well worth the climb.

After the beach we stumbled on a farmer's market and scored organic raspberries, peaches, nectarines, plums, apricots, and freshly harvested mushrooms! We found a great seafood restaurant for dinner and headed home. Justin fell asleep quickly, we assumed for the duration (it was already his bedtime). To our surprise he woke up crying after an hour. It took about 15 minutes to understand what was wrong, but he finally managed to tell us he was crying because he didn't want to go home! It was a really wonderful day.
