More Minnesota Fun

We had a week in between the cabin and Dave arriving. We were busy almost every single minute! We toured the James J. Hill house in St. Paul, went to the historic Kelly Farm and learned about farming in the 1800s, went to a Twins baseball game, saw Minions 3, went to the Children's Museum, visited Como Zoo, celebrated my nephew Carl's birthday with bowling and swimming, rode a trolley and walked around Minneapolis neighborhoods, set up a little pool and slip and slide, and went to the park.

The soundtrack of the summer was Abby saying "Whee. Balk. Yie." (Swing. Park. Slide) and I can't forget her newly learned verbal independence:

"Abby-turn
ABBY-TURN
ABBY-TURN!!!
Whether it was putting her shoes on, buckling her car seat, or getting a fork out of the drawer, Abby wanted to do it herself thank you very much! I, however, drew the line when she tried insisting on putting on her own diaper! Mommy's turn!

Fun at the Children's Museum

Kelly Farm: a historical operating farm

Pumping water

Abby helped wash potatoes; Justin helped roll out crackers

Go Twins! It was a very exciting game with the Twins making a huge comeback for the win!
Plus fireworks after...wow!

Blowing bubbles with Nana ("Abby-turn ABBY-TURN!")

Cousin fun: shaving cream twister!

Cleaning off in the slip and slide

Time for slime!

Papa snuggles

Oh yes, the other part of the soundtrack: "Pictures Abby peeze?"

Bowling to celebrate Carl's birthday!

Como Zoo

James J. Hill house (Dave finally arrived!)

Not a shabby view from the covered porch! (St. Paul Cathedral)

Justin wearing an authentic beaver fur hat. He would have been quite the thing back 250 years or so.

Blow the dynamite in the mine! Watch out!

Picnic with Jonathan, Eme, Brianna, and Carl

Trolley ride!
